Katrina Ellis is a dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor equipped with rich experience in working with adults and children, in both individual and group settings. Katrina is licensed in New Jersey, Georgia, and Oklahoma. She has worked with civilian populations, as well as military members and their families. She has extensive experience treating a wide range of symptoms, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, complex trauma and PTSD, as well as addressing life-adjustment challenges, interpersonal challenges, and substance abuse. Katrina tailors her approach to each individual and believes the therapeutic relationship is vital to achieving change. She is empathetic and attentive, making it easy to communicate and build trust with her. She offers a welcoming and non-judgmental environment, in hopes of creating a safe place for you to process through the stresses of life. Her approach is direct, yet sensitive and trauma-informed. Katrina will help you address unwanted behavioral and thought patterns limiting your life, in order to focus your attention and efforts on living the life you want. She helps you develop healthy communication, useful coping skills, emotion regulation, and understand the impact of trauma. Katrina enjoys incorporating creative solutions to help you reach your therapeutic goals. She will help you build on your strengths, meeting you wherever you are in your journey. Katrina has completed Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Basic Training, as well as several advanced EMDR Protocols. She has completed specialized trainings in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and Cognitive Processing Therapy, as well as specific approaches for addressing substance use disorders. She is Nationally Certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an approach addressing trauma in children and teens. She is a Child-Parent Psychotherapy Provider, an approach treating very young children (ages 0-5) and their families in addressing trauma. Katrina is also a certified trauma-informed yoga teacher. Katrina received her Master’s of Science in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from Valdosta State University. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology, with a minor in Professional Ethics from Valdosta State University. Katrina completed a 200 hour Yoga Power Teacher Training in Okinawa, Japan. She is originally from Albany, New York.
