Timothy Steinmetz

My name is Timothy Steinmetz. As a seasoned therapist, I will not only listen to you—I will truly hear you. My own life challenges have helped me grow into a more empathetic therapist. I understand addiction from a unique perspective, along with concerns such as ADHD, OCD, neurodivergence, gender identity, bipolar disorder, BPD, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, irrational fears, confusion, major life changes, obsessions and compulsions, or simply feeling unhappy.
I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and evidence-based practices to meet you where you are. I work with individuals, couples, and families, offering sessions after work or school through telehealth or in person. My approach is mindful, flexible, and predictable, and may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, ACT, grief and loss work, Brain spotting, identity exploration, life transitions, LGBTQIA+ support, men’s issues as well as women’s issues, peripartum depression /anxiety for both parents and much more.
There hasn't been a person I've met, in over 10 years of daily therapy, that I could not find positive qualities, unmet potential and a desire for connection with another. In our journey together, I hope we will connect, to find a way forward, for you, that is practical, hopeful and realistic.
