Patricia "Patty" Cotrell

Patty has been licensed as an LPC since 2022. She earned her Master’s Degree from Liberty University. She also earned 60 doctoral credits in Organizational Leadership in Behavioral Health Supervision and finished ABD with academic honors from Grand Canyon University. This quite the accomplishment for Patty because she has learning ‘curves’, is neuro-divergent, and ‘some silly professional’ explained when she was little that “her disabilities were too serious to ever even think about college!” Patty said, “HA! Just watch! I’ll show you!”
Definitely an outgoing, high energy, eternal optimist, Patty is excited to provide motivation, education, inspiration, encouragement, empowerment and lots of soft, calm, quiet comfort. Admittedly, while some people find her ‘soft, fluffy, nurturing, easy going and good for a laugh’, others in her past have described her as “No sugar added!”
Therapy sessions, both in-person and telehealth and can be easily switched as long as she is in the office. Patty works with clients navigating all levels of school needing 504s or IEPs, Senior citizens transitioning through their golden years, people with medical issues, and people with schizoaffective /schizophrenia. She has helped clients through anxiety, confusion, depression, grief, loneliness, experiencing hallucinations, and high work stress situations. Patty describes her style as person centered and eclectic, meeting her clients where they are in that very moment and utilizes DBT, ACT, CBT and mindfulness to help the client choose which goal they are working on during that session.
